To provide you better and better services, DTDC has always strived hard to improve its systems and process through huge investments in technologies. DTDC is the only company, which has introduced “DTDC PLUS” an express priority product with guaranteed next day delivery or 100% money back.
Over the last two years, DTDC has heavily invested in expanding our Operations, hubs and branch network. We have made large investments in manpower, training and quality improvements under ISO 9000:2000 standards. All this will bring better and improved services to our esteemed customers.
While we have been making all this improvements, global scenario on Fuel Prices has been changing dramatically. For over seventeen years, DTDC avoided charging Fuel Surcharge to our customers. However last year, we were forced to introduce a very minimal 10% FSC to our customers and rest of the increased costs were absorbed by the company.
However over the last six months there is no let up in inflation, which has caused huge cost escalations across the services used by DTDC. We are seeing tremendous cost escalations in ground transportation such as Cargo Vehicles, bike riders, bus fares etc. The escalation in Aviation Turbine Fuel has also led to the tremendous hikes in the Air Freights leading to increase in related costs.
With such escalations, it has become impossible to carry on further. While costs have gone up by more then 25-40%, we have decided to increase our fuel surcharge by only 8%. We have estimated that Oil will settle around $110 per barrel soon and hence increasing our FSC to 18% with effect from 16th May 2008. We sincerely wish that you will understand our situation.
